The Caltech Seismology Laboratory reported an aftershock measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale occurred offshore near San Diego. The temblor was centered 46 miles west-northwest of San Diego where, in July, 1986, a 5.3 shaker struck. No injuries or damage were reported in the aftershock.
