Hats off to Alan Weisman and his terrific profile on emerging Los Angeles Chicago artists (“Born in East L.A.,” March 27). It was refreshing to note that the community at large is finally beginning to recognize the serious and substantial contributions by Chicano artists in Los Angeles. Hopefully, this type of recognition will extend itself in the future to other ethnic creatives working here and abroad.
