Marine’s Death: Questions, Disbelief and Descriptions
- Share via
The Orange County district attorney’s office made a grievously flawed decision in not bringing some charge, such as manslaughter, against the two Cal State Fullerton football players who killed the Marine.
Strangely, the district attorney’s office called the fight in which the Marine died “mutual combat” or a “fair fight.” Since when is it “mutual combat” or a “fair fight” when two younger men fight one older man?
The two football players should be ashamed of themselves for fighting one older man. Regardless of the taunts from the older man, who was reported to be very drunk, they should have walked away. At least, only one of them should have fought.
The decision of “excusable homicide” is a disgrace. I hope that there is a state or federal investigation of this travesty of justice. Perhaps then justice will finally be realized.
