Simon Barker-Benfield will succeed Paul Minch as manager of First Interstate Bancorp’s corporate public relations activities. Minch, 58, died April 13. Barker-Benfield joined the bank holding company as vice president in December, 1987. He previously was vice president at Hill & Knowlton Inc., where he also was deputy director of financial and corporate services practice in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
