A 30-minute documentary produced last October by the city’s communications channel has been nominated for an Award for Cable Excellence, or ACE, given annually by the cable industry.
“Faces of AIDS,” which chronicled the effect of acquired immune deficiency syndrome on seven people touched by the disease, was among five documentaries selected from 870 entries in the category of best single public affairs program.
The winners will be announced Monday during a convention of the National Cable Television Assn. in Los Angeles.
