Another Racial Remark From Snyder

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Jimmy (The Greek) Snyder, who was fired as a sportscaster in January by CBS for racist remarks made during during a radio interview, shocked many people Wednesday night at a press dinner at Keeneland on the eve of today’s Blue Grass Stakes.
Snyder, asked to handicap the field in the Blue Grass, said: “I don’t know, I don’t want to get into any trouble. Are there any black horses in the race?”
Snyder went on to handicap the race and evidently intended the remark to be facetious, but a number of horsemen and media people in the room thought it was in poor taste.
After the dinner, Snyder was asked by a reporter if he thought his remark may have been offensive to blacks in the audience.
“Are we going to go through with that again?” Snyder said. “Leave me alone.”
