Jack Shewmaker, formerly vice chairman and chief financial officer of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., has been elected to the board of the Vons Cos., El Monte. In February, Shewmaker announced his semi-retirement from Wal-Mart. He continues to be active in Wal-Mart’s operations as a consultant and member of the board.
