Isn’t There a Way to Keep Joyner, Trade Port?

Wally Joyner has driven in 100 runs in each of his two seasons with the Angels. That is a milestone the great Kirk Gibson, who will earn millions from the Dodgers, has yet to reach even once.

If Mike Port wants to pinch his pennies, let him cut loose the aging Buckner, Armas and Hendrick. Wally is the heart of the Angels and deserves his $600,000, not the antagonism of Angel management.
