A man jumped off his bicycle at a San Ysidro gas station Wednesday, climbed into a woman’s car and drove off with her 80-year-old mother, police said.
The frightened passenger, Julia Delgado, was pushed out of the car about two miles away in the 1700 block of Del Sur Boulevard, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. She was treated at the scene for minor cuts.
Elvida Delgado was getting gas in the 700 block of San Ysidro Boulevard at 10 a.m. when the man took her car, Robinson said. The keys were in the ignition, and two purses in the car contained $20 to $30.
Police were still seeking the man and the vehicle Wednesday.
