College Basketball Roundup : Pacific Christian Clinches Title

Mike DeVries scored 26 points to lead Pacific Christian College to an 82-55 victory over Life College in a Western Christian Athletic Assn. men’s basketball game Tuesday at Life College.
Pacific Christian clinched the WCAA championship with the victory.
Brian Kieser added 20 points for Pacific Christian (25-4, 7-0). Steve Avrahm scored 19 points to lead Life (13-5, 5-2).
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s games:
Cal Baptist 85, Southern California College 78--Michael Banks scored 23 points to lead Cal Baptist (16-9, 6-3) at Costa Mesa. John Mounce scored 15 points and Mike Lightfoot added 14 to lead SCC (11-12, 6-3).
Fresno Pacific 100, Christ College Irvine 91--Donny Johnson scored 36 points on 16-of-21 shooting from the field and Brian falls scored 24 for visiting Fresno Pacific (6-17, 5-5). Cedric Benson scored 25 points and Mike Thompson 21 for Irvine (7-17, 0-9).
In a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s game:
Cal State Dominguez Hills 73, Chapman 72--Dominguez Hills went on a 16-0 run in the second half at Chapman and held on for its first conference victory of the season. Chapman led, 65-53, with 8:15 left, but the Panthers (12-8, 3-4) were held scoreless during the next six minutes. Karan Polk scored 17 points to lead Chapman, including a three-pointer at the buzzer.
In a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s game:
Cal Baptist 101, Southern California 49--Sonja Akkerman scored 27 points to lead California Baptist (19-4, 8-0) at Southern California. Julie Ammon and Connie Brazell scored 13 points and Mary Sullivan 12 for Southern California (9-12, 0-8).
