The Cincinnati Reds’ John Franco and the Toronto Blue Jays’ Tom Henke, two of the top relief pitchers in baseball, lost salary arbitration hearings.
Franco, who made $300,000 while saving 32 games last year, had asked for a salary of $925,000, but will receive the $675,000 filed by the Reds.
Henke, who made $331,000 in salary and bonuses while saving 34 games with an 0-6 record last year, had asked for $1.025 million, but will receive the $725,000 offered by the Blue Jays.
