GTE’s income dipped slightly to $1.1 billion in 1987 from $1.2 billion in 1986, primarily reflecting losses incurred at US Sprint during the year. Revenue rose 2% to $15.4 billion, the Stamford, Conn., company said. Revenue at US Sprint was up 20% to $2.6 billion, the company said, but GTE’s share of US Sprint’s pretax losses amounted to $577 million.
