Small Quake Reported: Caltech officials reported a small earthquake 4 miles east of Seal Beach on Friday morning. The quake was recorded at 5:31 a.m. and it registered 2.8 on the Richter scale. A spokeswoman for the Seal Beach Police Department said no damage was reported, although one resident did call to report the tremor.
