CAMPAIGN ’88 : Dukakis Unveils Team

Noting that the California primary may be the “decisive prize” in the 1988 Democratic presidential sweepstakes, Massachusetts Gov. Dukakis introduced his California leadership team at a Beverly Hills press conference Thursday.
The group includes Reps. Robert T. Matsui (D-Sacramento) and Norman Y. Mineta (D-San Jose); state Senate Majority Leader Barry Keene (D-Benicia); state Sen. Nicholas C. Petris (D-Oakland); Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman; Los Angeles City Council members Richard Alatorre and Joy Picus; former state secretary of business, transportation and housing Lynn Schenk, and actress Sally Field.
