NEW YORK — Two businessmen were charged with acting as fences for stolen silver items after they were arrested in a raid by undercover detectives.
Investigators in the raid on the Merchants Refining Co. Saturday recovered three 50-gallon drums of silverware and other rare items, including a $600 menorah that had survived the Holocaust, officials said.
Charged with possession of stolen property were Alvin Kramer, 59, of West New York, N.J., and his son, Richard Kramer, 31, of Manhattan.
