The U.S. dollar held firm against the yen in early trading Monday in Tokyo, while stock prices moved higher. The dollar opened at 127.70 yen, unchanged from Friday’s closing rate. Traders cited an absence of economic news for the dollar’s stability. On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Nikkei 225-share average, which jumped 248.75 points during Saturday’s half-day session, gained another 137.76 points in the first 15 minutes of trading to move to 23,263.09.
