College Basketball : DeLaveaga’s 35 Help CLU Forge Tie for First

Steve deLaveaga scored a game-high 35 points, 23 in the second half, to lead Cal Lutheran to an 85-74 victory over Azusa Pacific in a Golden State Athletic Conference game at Cal Lutheran on Saturday night.
CLU (8-10, 3-1) snapped a 15-game losing streak against Azusa Pacific (5-14, 3-1) and moved into a first-place tie with the Cougars atop the GSAC rankings.
Jeff Logsdon added 15 points for CLU.
MEN
Canyons 66, Cuesta 57--Troy Lehman came off the bench and scored a season-high 17 points to lead College of the Canyons to its third consecutive Western State Conference victory.
Moorpark 66, Santa Barbara 59 (OT)--Rich Murphy scored six of his game-high 20 points in overtime to lead Moorpark (13-8, 3-3) to Western State Conference win at Moorpark.
WOMEN
Moorpark 80, Santa Barbara 71--Karina Hardman was held to nine points, but freshman Kristy Sterbens scored a season-high 26 for visiting Moorpark (14-10, 6-0) in the WSC game.
Point Loma 78, The Master’s 64 (OT)--The Mustangs (8-9, 3-6) committed 18 second-half turnovers and scored only one point in overtime in an NAIA District III game at The Master’s.
