MEXICO CITY — The government will establish a hot line for citizens to report corruption among public officials, an official announced Wednesday.
Enrique del Val Blanco, an undersecretary in the comptroller general’s office, said the 24-hour telephone line, which any Mexican can call to make anonymous reports of corruption, will be hooked up in February.
He told reporters the measure is aimed at stemming the now-traditional theft of public funds by government officials during the final year of a presidential administration.
