Pirmin Zurbriggen of Switzerland won his first World Cup race of the season, defeating Anton Steiner of Austria in the downhill by more than a half-second at Val D’Isere, France.
Zurbriggen finished in 1 minute 57.10 seconds for his 30th World Cup victory. Steiner was timed in 1:57.64, and Marc Girardelli of Luxembourg was third in 1:57.67.
