A Stanton family was left homeless Saturday after fire gutted their apartment, Orange County fire officials said.
Fire Department spokesman Mark Stevens said the fire broke out shortly after noon in a unit of the Dale Village Apartments at 10410 Dale St., forcing a couple and their 3-month-old child to flee. No one was injured, but the fire caused an estimated $8,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire was not known, and the names of the couple were not immediately released.
John Hall, a spokesman for the Orange County Red Cross, said the agency provided the family with food, clothing and a crib and mattress. The family is staying with relatives in the area, Hall said.
