USIU Meets Air Force Tonight in Colorado

SAN DIEGO — United States International University plays Air Force at Colorado Springs, Colo., tonight at 6:35 (PST) in a nonconference men’s basketball game.
USIU (6-10) was defeated by the University of San Diego, 80-71, Saturday night. The Gulls had 24 turnovers, and shot 43% from the field against USD.
Guard Russ Heicke leads USIU in scoring with a 20.4 average, and forward Rade Milutinovic is averaging 12.2 points.
Air Force (5-4) will be without point guard Raymond Dudley, who sprained his ankle a week ago against Marquette and has missed the last two games. Dudley, last year’s Western Athletic Conference newcomer of the year, was the team’s second leading scorer at 14.9.
Freshman guard Sean Giles, a former University of San Diego High School star, came off the bench to score a team-high 17 points against Marquette and he scored 14 points in a starting role against Niagara. Giles is 25 of 45 (56%) from the field.
