David W. Fleming was named a director of Valley Federal Savings & Loan, succeeding Donald C. Headlund, who resigned last month as president and chief executive of the Van Nuys-based company.
Fleming, 53, a senior partner of the law firm of Fleming & Ingalls in Van Nuys, is Valley Federal’s outside counsel.
Valley Federal, which is the target of a proposed takeover bid by Citadel Holding Corp., the Glendale-based parent of Fidelity Federal Savings & Loan, filled Headlund’s management posts with a four-member office of the chief executive.
