Hart Joins 12 Others on Rhode Island Ballot

PROVIDENCE, R. I. — Gary Hart and the other 12 major candidates for the presidency have been placed on Rhode Island’s March 8 primary ballot by Secretary of State Kathleen S. Connell.
The Democratic list comprises former Arizona Gov. Bruce Babbitt, Gov. Michael S. Dukakis of Massachusetts, Rep. Richard A. Gephardt of Missouri, Sen. Albert Gore Jr. of Tennessee, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sen. Paul Simon of Illinois and Hart.
The Republican candidates are Vice President George Bush, Sen. Bob Dole of Kansas, former Secretary of State Alexander M. Haig Jr., former Delaware Gov. Pierre S. (Pete) du Pont IV, Rep. Jack Kemp of New York and former television evangelist Pat Robertson.
