Japan Parts Plant Slated in Tenn.

TOKYO — Nippondenso Co., a leading Japanese electronic auto parts maker, said today that it will build an auto parts plant in Maryville, Tenn., by July of 1990 with a total investment of $200 million.

Tooru Mayumi of Nippondenso said the plant will produce $130 million worth of generators and starters for automobile engines a year. He said about 550 local workers will be employed at the parts plant.
