“Onegin.” Home Vision. $39.95. In this deluxe studio staging of John Cranko’s uneven, three-act dance-drama (based on Pushkin with music adapted from Tchaikovsky), National Ballet of Canada delivers diligent but bloodless dancing: dull respectability in a high-Romantic challenge. Frank Augustyn exudes small-scale intensity as Onegin and Sabina Allemann gives a secure, glazed performance as Tatiana. The most beautiful and ardent dancing is contributed by Jeremy Ransom in Lensky’s lyric solo of anguish before his fatal duel. Information: (800) 826-3456. “Bold Steps” * 1/2 “Onegin” ** 1/2
