Two military planes collided over a practice bombing range in the Chocolate Mountains of Imperial County and crashed in the desert. The pilots, who were not immediately identified, ejected safely, officials said. The A7-E Corsair II one-seat bomber jets were based at the Lemoore Naval Air Station in Central California, the Navy said.
