Yearly Deaths From Cigarettes Put at 315,120

ATLANTA — Cigarette smoking causes the deaths of about 315,120 people in a single year, the national Centers for Disease Control reported today.
It blamed smoking for nearly 16% of all U.S. deaths in 1984.
