The Letters (Oct. 19) in response to my Op-Ed article of Oct. 4, brag that the cap on medical malpractice awards “only” applies to pain, suffering and emotional distress; that there is no limit on economic losses. This is like a doctor cutting off your right arm by mistake and saying: “Don’t worry! I’ll pay for your hook and we’ll call it even.”
