Amerada Hess’ net income fell 8% to $38.6 million, for the third quarter, compared to the year-ago period. Revenue was up 44% to $1.12 billion for the quarter. The New York-based firm said the results were due to income tax benefits and charges relating to U.S. operations and certain foreign subsidiaries that were not recorded on 1986 results.
