South Korea rejected North Korea’s demand for direct talks on sharing the 1988 Summer Olympic Games and urged the North to accept an International Olympic Committee offer on the issue.
Kim Chong-ha, president of the South Korean National Olympic Committee, sent a letter to his North Korean counterpart, Kim Yu-Sun, saying he was disappointed by North Korea’s repeated demand for a bilateral South-North Korean meeting concerning the Olympics.
