Republic American OKs Common Stock Buyback

Republic American, the Encino workers’ compensation insurer, has approved the buyback of up to 4.9% of the company’s 20.2 million shares of common stock. Republic American is controlled by Cincinnati investor Carl Linder, whose American Financial Corp. owns 35% of Republic American’s stock.
Republic American also increased its quarterly dividend to six cents a share, up from five cents.
