“La Bayadere.” Kultur. $59.95. Like the familiar American Ballet Theatre version, this Kirov Ballet production is based on Marius Petipa’s four-act, 1877 dance-spectacle about love and death in ancient India. However, ABT reconstructs the lost final act (complete with collapsing temple) while the Kirov ends with the glorious, moonstruck vision scene, “The Kingdom of the Shades.” (In earlier scenes, the Kirov includes more character-dance and pageantry than ABT.) This 1977 live performance features brilliant dancing by Tatiana Terekhova (Gamzatti), less distinguished but authoritative classicism from Gabriella Komleva (Nikiya) and Rejen Abdyev (Solor).
