A.F. Jets Crash Near Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Two F-16 jet fighters attached to the 57th Fighter Weapons Wing at Nellis Air Force Base just north of here crashed at approximately 11:30 a.m. today, according to base officials. The crash site is on the restricted Nellis Range Complex in an uninhabited area 70 miles northwest of the base. The status of the pilots was not immediately known.
