Two more of the seven inmates who escaped from New Mexico’s prison were captured separately, one after a hostage-taking incident near the governor’s mansion in Santa Fe in which a third prisoner eluded captors. Three men are still at large. Michael Romero, 22, armed with a pistol, was captured after a foot chase, state police said. John Michael Schmidt, 24, was arrested later by officers who followed a trail of blood to a garage. The blood came from a cut on Schmidt’s hand. Romero and the third prisoner held a couple hostage, but the woman managed to escape and called police.
