A Redwood City woman convicted of forcing her 14-year-old daughter into prostitution was sentenced to 28 years in prison. “She took advantage of a position of trust and confidence,” said San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Robert D. Miller in handing down the sentence for forced oral copulation and unlawful intercourse. Barbara Deloach, 31, herself a prostitute, was found guilty of forcing her daughter to perform sex acts on two separate occasions in September, 1986, with the same man in exchange for $40 each time, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Karen Marzotto. The sentence is the maximum allowable for the crimes. “The nature of the crime was one of the most heinous and grievous that I’ve ever come across as a prosecutor, except for murder,” Marzotto said in explaining her request for severe sentence.
