Iacocca on Japan

I find a notable omission in Iacocca’s article. He states: “The Japanese didn’t get rich just through hard work; they got rich through open access to our market while we allowed them to shut us out of theirs.” No where does Iacocca mention the superior quality of their products such as automobiles.
