El Toro : Villa Park Resident Flees Musick Branch Jail
- Share via
Law enforcement officials were searching for a Villa Park man who reportedly escaped Tuesday afternoon from James A. Musick branch jail.
Christopher David Johnson, 24, apparently fled the minimum-security facility off Trabuco Road near the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station after a noon prisoner check, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said.
Johnson, arrested June 11 by Anaheim police, was serving a 120-day sentence for possession of amphetamines and receiving stolen goods, police said. He was scheduled for release Sept. 13, Olson said.
It was unclear how Johnson escaped. The last inmate to escape the jail did so in January and was recaptured five days later, Olson said.
