A ruling by a Superior Court judge in Atlanta cleared the way for California’s lottery ticket supplier, Scientific Games, to keep using the printing plant it built in Gilroy and to terminate its contract with a printer in Georgia. Fulton County Judge Osgood Williams also upheld a $5.6-million civil fraud ruling against the printer, Dittler Bros. Inc., for overcharging Scientific for printing materials over a three-year period, and vacated an injunction that prevented Scientific from printing tickets in the Gilroy plant. But the judge upheld a $500 contempt-of-court fine against Scientific for bidding on a contract in Pennsylvania without the court’s permission. All the same, California Lottery officials said they will recommend to the Lottery Commission that another firm, located in New Jersey, receive a share in future ticket-printing contracts.
