A National Guardsman was killed when two adjacent M-60 tanks were struck by a shell fired in error by another tank. It was the 11th death in two days during Starburst ’87 training maneuvers at Ft. Hood, Tex., officials said. Seven other Guardsmen were injured in the night maneuvers accident, a day after a military helicopter crashed in a clearing and killed all 10 reservists and National Guardsmen aboard.
