Peter Thorn of Eden Prairie, Minn., who lived with an artificial heart for more than two weeks, received a new human heart in a four-hour transplant operation at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, officials said. Thorn, 50, was listed in critical condition in the cardiovascular intensive care unit of the hospital. His wife and three children maintained a vigil by his side, a hospital spokeswoman said. No information regarding the donor was released.
