Mobil Travel Guide in 30th Year

NEW YORK — If you’re planning a trip within the United States, a handy reference is the 1987 Mobil Travel Guide series, now in its 30th year of publication.
The 1987 edition appears in seven regional volumes: California and the West, the Great Lakes Area, the Middle Atlantic States, Northeastern States, Northwest and Great Plans States, Southeastern States, Southwest and South Central Area.
The series is designed to help families keep trips within a budget and on schedule, and to keep travelers well-informed and avoid unwelcome surprises.
The guide provides a list of things to see an places to go in the 48 contiguous states, as well as in some of the bordering Canadian provinces. It includes prices and rates the quality of 21,000 hotels, motels, resorts and restaurants in 4,000 cities and towns.
The guide makes note of those establishments that offer a particularly good deal for the price and also contains details on the establishment’s price range, its gymnasium facilities, if any, and provisions for nonsmokers.
In addition, the guides contain coupons for various attractions.
The Mobil Travel Guide, published by Prentice Hall Press, is available at bookstores and Mobil service stations for $8.95.
