Hershey Foods Corp. is voluntarily recalling as many as 2.8 million chocolate-covered granola bars because peanuts mistakenly were added to the product, a company spokesman said in Hershey, Pa. Peanuts are not listed on the wrapper of the Cocoa Creme flavored New Trail Chocolate Covered Granola Bars. Four persons who ate the bars were allergic to peanuts and suffered allergic reactions, but none were hospitalized. The company, upon learning of the reactions, contacted the Food and Drug Administration about the recall, the spokesman said.
