In the year of “The Golden Girls,” he’s the Golden Boy: 90 and still going strong. Hollywood says happy birthday to George Burns in an hourlong program, “The George Burns 90th Birthday Special,” Friday at 8 p.m. on CBS (Channels 2 and 8).
The tribute, taped before an audience at the Beverly Theater in Los Angeles, traces Burns’ show-business career and features appearances by President Reagan, John Denver, Ann-Margret, Johnny Carson, Frank Sinatra, Billy Crystal, Walter Matthau, John Forsythe, Bob Hope and Milton Berle, among others.
