Landscape Council to Seat Johnson as New President

Charles R. Johnson, president of California Landscape Inc. of Canoga Park, will be installed this month as 1986 president of the California Landscape & Irrigation Council, succeeding Mickey Strauss, president of American Landscape Inc., also of Canoga Park, who will join the board of directors.
Klaus W. Ahlers of Carlacio Landscape Inc., Placentia, has been chosen as president-elect and will succeed automatically to the presidency in 1987.
Other new officers are Art Torres of Art Torres Landscaping, Encinitas; John Carlson of Carlson’s Landscaping, Fountain Valley, and William N. Cohen of Valley Crest Landscape Inc., Calabasas, vice presidents.
Julie Kitch of ABC Lawn Sprinkler Co., Newhall, has been named secretary-treasurer and is the first woman ever elected to the council’s board of directors. Joe Brazan will continue as the council’s executive secretary and manager, a post he has held for 16 years, operating out of the group’s Whittier headquarters.
