BEATING UP ROGER & GENE
Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert may well be the film critics with the most clout in America and appear on Calendar’s cover (“Windy Critics,” by Lewis Beale, Jan. 5), but since KABC television picked up “At the Movies” in syndication, one would think the two no more important than reruns of “Bowling for Dollars.”
The idiots at KABC constantly change their program’s time slot. Furthermore, when it is announced that the show will be televised at, say, 7 p.m. Jan. 4 or 1 p.m. Jan. 5, we are treated to “California Lottery” and “Mrs. Columbo” respectively.
Does anyone in Los Angeles see Gene and Roger but the die-hards who check KABC on the half-hour every Saturday and Sunday?
