Alcohol-Ban Hearing Set: The city’s Planning Commission will hold a public hearing today on a proposed ordinance that would ban the sale of alcohol at gas stations. The legislation would bar an application by Shell Oil Co. for a permit to sell alcohol at a proposed service station. No gas stations in the city sell alcohol. The Planning Commission will forward its recommendations to the City Council.
