West Point-Pepperell has chosen Donald J. Keller as its new president and chief operating officer. Keller, currently executive vice president of General Foods, will be joining West Point-Pepperell in January.

At the same time, General Foods, a White Plains, N.Y.-based unit of Philip Morris, announced changes in its top management structure, effective Feb. 1. The changes include:

Robert L. Seelert and Ervin R. Shames, both executive vice presidents, have been promoted to senior executive vice presidents. Seelert will direct the company’s coffee and international businesses and Shames will be responsible for General Foods’ packaged grocery products businesses.

Also, Robert L. Sansone, vice president and general manager of the beverage division, has been promoted to group vice president; James C. Tappen, group vice president, will now oversee the company’s development and corporate marketing activities.
