RENO — After the chief cashier for the Reno Ramada Hotel Casino failed to return from an afternoon break, employees discovered more than $250,000 missing from the establishment, police said.
A nationwide alert and a warrant was issued charging the cashier, Robert Lee West, 46, with embezzlement and grand larceny, said Police Sgt. Jerry Cavallo.
West went on his afternoon break about 2:15 p.m. Friday, Cavallo said. An hour later, fellow casino employees noticed that he had not returned.
If West is apprehended, police will ask the Reno Justice Court to set bail of $250,000 in cash or a $1-million bond, Cavallo said.
