Softball: Birmingham gets rare victory over El Camino Real

Jim Rose, the softball coach at Birmingham for 13 years, was 0-29 against El Camino Real. But the Patriots came through with their first victory over City Section softball power El Camino Real in Rose’s tenure on Thursday, coming away with a 7-4 victory.

Tallie Woodson shut out the Conquistadores over the final six innings after giving up four runs in the first inning. Mya Garcia had a key home run late in the game.
