Girls’ basketball: Carson edges Taft, 43-42

In a matchup of top City Section teams, Carson pulled out a 43-42 victory over Woodland Hills Taft when Imani Johnson made two free throws with 1.9 seconds left at Carson.

Taft almost won the game at the buzzer, but a layup fell just off the basket.

Carson (5-3) received 20 points from Kamara Smith. Taft (2-3) was led by Autumn Naylor, a freshman guard who scored 21 points.
